Assistant Director of Athletic Communications is responsible for compiling and disseminating information regarding Texas A&M University-Commerce Athletics and serves as a liaison between news media and general public for Texas A&M University-Commerce Athletic personnel.
Education: Bachelor’s & a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in collegiate sports information, media relations field.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Knowledge of Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.). Strong working knowledge and experience in statistical software (specifically NCAA Live Stats and The Automated Scorebook). Solid working knowledge of football, basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, soccer, golf and softball statistical rules and applications. Strong written communications skills with AP style. Familiarity with social media outlets, including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Experience with athletics video web stream production, including hardware and software.
Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team.
Three to four (3 to 4) years of collegiate sports information experience. Sound knowledge of college athletics and computer technology with experience in desktop publishing. Experience with web design and collegiate athletics content management systems. Experience in a non-Power 5 environment. Sports action and portrait photography experience.
