Description
Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications position. This role will assist the Associate Director of Athletics, Strategic Communications and Content Creation in the day-to-day operations and all public relations, communications and media efforts for Brown’s 34 varsity programs.
Duties:

Responsible for all communications-related activities for assigned sports, including but not limited to general stories, game stories, press releases, statistics, box scores, game notes, press conferences, printed and virtual informational resources, media appearances/interviews.

Serve as an informational resource to all media sources (ESPN+, Linear TV, print, radio, news media, etc.),

Ensure daily accurate and up-to-date information for assigned programs on BrownBears.com, departmental and team social media accounts, and various other communications outlets.

Ensure timely and accurate content updates (game stories, statistics, player/coach/staff biographies, video, etc.) for all sports in area of responsibility.

This position may hire, supervise and train event (professional and student) staff.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or other related disciplines.

2-3 years experience in communications/marketing/journalism in collegiate athletics or related industries.

Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Creative Suite InDesign/Photoshop), Statistical Software (StatCrew, Genius Sports and NCAA Live Stats), Website content management systems (preferably SIDEARM), a basic knowledge of various social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook), and familiarity with both MAC and PC platforms.
