Description
The position of Assistant Director of Game Operations, Events and Championships is to primarily assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Game Operations, Events and Championships with all event and facility operations as well as the additional needs of the Athletic Facilities, Game Operations, Events and Championships department.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as primary event manager and scheduling contact for Duke Softball and serve as facility manager /ground liaison for East Campus Operations which include Field Hockey, Softball and Marching Band.
- Serve as primary event manager for campus and outside events as assigned by Assistant Athletic Director of Game Operations, Championships & Events.
- Assist Assistant AD with Emergency Medical Response and Emergency Action Plans, including Severe Weather Operations plan management and communication for Duke Softball.
- Serve as tournament director for on-campus ACC and NCAA championships hosted at Duke Softball Stadium and assist with championships conducted in other facilities for assigned event management sports.
- Serve as basketball and football game day entry operations manager and complete associated season and game-by-game prep assigned by primary game manager in support of operations
- Collaborate with Durham Sports Commission and promoters, under the direction of the Assistant AD, to generate revenue and non-revenue events hosted on the Athletics campus specifically within East Campus facilities and those in other facilities as need dictates
- Assist with athletic facility maintenance, upkeep, and renovation projects as assigned by Deputy AD, Director of Capital Planning or Director of Facilities.
Qualifications:
- Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
- Work requires one year of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
