Description
The Assistant Director of Athletics is responsible for assisting with the development, management, coordination, and supervision of a competitive intercollegiate athletics program. The Assistant Director of Athletics works to execute the vision, strategic plan, and organization of the Athletics department while assisting with the administration of the overall athletic budget, recruitment, and management of the coaching staff.
Responsibilities:
- Supports and encourages the current academic standards and expectations of all Union College student-athletes and works in conjunction with the Student Athlete-Academic Advisor to facilitate student academic success.
- Create an action plan geared to promote Alumni engagement.
- Create and lead a student-athlete player development program focused on Leadership Development, Career exploration, Community Service.
- Understanding and adhering to the rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements of the National Junior College Athletic Association, Region XIX, and the Garden State Athletic Association.
- Supports compliance with NJCAA, Region XIX, and GSAC rules and regulations governing eligibility. Coordinates with other administrative departments e.g., Admissions, IT, Registrar, and Financial Aid to verify compliance with rules and regulations regarding student-athlete eligibility.
- Develops strategies and initiatives in conjunction with institutional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion to promote the value of it in intercollegiate athletics. Supports the compliance with the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) and Title IX regulations.

- Establishes and communicates the institution’s commitment to rules compliance for the entire department.
