Description
The Assistant Director of Athletics of Operations & Facilities serves as a member of the Athletics Leadership Team and is responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations. That includes, but is not limited to, team oversight, events management, facilities scheduling and supervision, oversight of the student work-study program, community engagement, recruiting strategies and enrollment initiatives, and the overall administration of the Athletics Department.
Essential Duties:
- Contributes to the strategic planning of the Department;
- Works with the Director of Athletics to implement successful recruiting strategies to support the College’s enrollment initiatives;
- Assists with the coordination and supervision of staff and students assigned to game management activities.
- Manages all games management work study students, including scheduling and timely submission of time sheets.
- Handles hiring, teams, officials, and field set-up for contests.
- Oversees the management and maintenance of athletics facilities.
- Coordinates bus schedules and team transportation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required;
- Master’s degree is preferred;
- One to two years of collegiate athletic administrative experience is preferred;
- A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work as part of a team, and motivate staff in a fast paced environment;
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules;
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy, rules and regulations.
