Description
The Assistant Director of Football Performance reports to the Director of Football Performance and assists in all aspects of sports performance for football student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Develops football strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes with review from the Director of Football Sports Performance or Director of Athletic Training Services;
- Supervises and coordinates strength and conditioning programs for football as required;
- Responsible for strength testing and evaluation as assigned; 10%
- Responsible for strength and conditioning programs which elicit safe and correct execution of exercise technique;
- Effectively communicates with athletic trainers and coaches on exercise protocol;
- Participates in monthly Student-Athlete Performance Summit with Intercollegiate Sports Medicine Staff;
- Promotes the football sports performance program at Northwestern University at requested times including but not limited to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the NSCA or CSCCA Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association before employment starting date and maintained throughout appointment.
- Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training required.
