Description
The Assistant Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics will provide leadership support in the
development, implementation, coordination and supervision of the district's Health, Physical Education, and Athletic programs.
Responsibilities:
- Hiring - assists the Athletic Director in the recruitment and retention of Health & PE teachers, and Athletic coaches, in addition to other staff in the department.
- Standards & Curriculum - Assist in the evaluation of Health/PE curriculum to ensure that it is aligned to NYS standards; make recommendations for revision/modifications and assist teachers in implementing new resources, methods, or content/standards, as needed.
- Communication - effectively communicate to various stakeholders in HPEA Department.
- Budget - assists in the implementation of the HPEA budget.
- Resources - assists in the maintenance of inventory of all equipment and supplies, including the cleaning, storage, and refurbishment and care of all athletic equipment.
- Facilities - assists in the coordination, preparation, and maintenance of district-wide facilities for interscholastic practices and competitions.
- Staff supervision of Health & PE teachers and athletic coaches, inclusive of district observation/evaluation processes.
- Scheduling - assists in master schedule for Health & PE teachers and scheduling athletic competitions.
