Description
The Assistant Director of Sports Performance provides comprehensive strength and conditioning programs with the goal of improving sports performance and mitigating injury potential for all athletic teams, as specified by the Director of Sports Performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assists director in development of athletic performance training programs for assigned teams.
- Implements appropriate training programs for student-athletes regardless of skill-level and/or training experience.
- Monitors correct exercise technique at all times.
- Keeps record of important key performance indicators to track student-athlete development over time.
- Collaborate with sports medicine team on return to play protocols of injured student-athletes.
- Report to head sport coaches about student-athletes performance and rate of progress.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to establish positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
- Be organized and adaptable in a highly demanding environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in exercise science/kinesiology or related degree.
- 2-3 years experience in a collegiate training environment or the equivalent.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association or the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- A valid driver’s license.
