Description
Thiel College seeks an Assistant Director of Track and Field/Head Cross Country Coach. The Assistant Director of Track and Field/Head Cross Country Coach will serve as both the Men’s and Women’s Head Coach for our Cross Country Programs. The Assistant Director of Track and Field/Head Cross Country Coach is responsible for all aspects of both the men’s and women’s intercollegiate Cross Country programs while holistically developing student-athletes to be leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country programs and supervise the day-to-day operations.
- Teach/instruct student-athletes in their designated sport (primary duty of all coaches).
- Monitor student-athletes academic performance and social behavior.
- Recruit, retain, and graduate quality student-athletes for Thiel College and the athletic program.
- Develop and implement a strategic recruiting plan - Consistently meet or exceed recruiting goals - Maintain target roster sizes.
- Maintain allotted budget.
- Coordinate with the Director of Athletics on fundraising activities.
- Develop a competitive competition schedule in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
- Coordinate and implement community service activities.
- Mentor and develop assistant coaches.
- Serve as a positive role model for student athletes.
- Serve on campus committees as needed.
Qualifications:
- Applicants are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- A master’s degree is preferred. 3-4 years of coaching experience at an NCAA program is desired.
- Competence in athletics management and leadership, an understanding of student athlete development, and a deep commitment to the values the College promotes.
