Description
Responsibilities:
- Provides overall direction, administration, and management to comprehensive Intramural Sports and Sport Club programs.
- Oversees staff and program and policy development, participant relations, risk management, technology, and program assessment.
- Benchmarks current trends and practices and implements new and innovative programming and management methods to increase participation and satisfaction.
- Assists with strategic and long-term planning for the Intramural Sports program.
- Develops, interprets, and implements program principles, operating policies, and related procedures.
- Coordinates with Competitive Sports Facilities staff for short and long-term operational planning. Responsible for enforcement of departmental and University policies.
- Interprets SGA guidelines and statutes, as needed.
- Serves as the final appeal level in regard to judicial decisions with Intramural Sports program participants.
- Supervises and mentors the Recreation Coordinator for Intramural Sports.
- Assists with the recruitment, selection, hiring, training, evaluation, and termination of sport officials and sport supervisors.
- Provides leadership for the overall training and development of OPS student employees totaling up to 8 FTE of part-time staff in collaboration with Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of the same experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
- Master's degree in related field and two years of administrative experience in a collegiate intramural program; or Bachelor's degree and four years of administrative experience in related field is preferred.
