Description
This position will assist the Head Football Coach in the conduct of the men’s intercollegiate football program and serve as a position coach on the offense or defense. The primary duty of the Assistant Football Coach is to instruct players in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The Coach will also support the recruitment, retention, academic and personal development of the student athletes.
Position Duties:
- Analyzes performance and instructs players in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition.
- Instructs players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques in football specific to position.
- Observes players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement.
- Assists with the recruiting of student-athletes who have the potential for meeting the University standards for admission and be successful members of the football team.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of and abides by applicable policies and regulations of the Pace University, the Northeast 10 Conference and the NCAA, it being understood that your failure to comply with such rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action taken against you by the Northeast 10, or by the NCAA or by Pace University.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree required.
- Previous college playing and/or coaching experience at the college or high school level.
- Must demonstrate potential to teach, lead, and counsel college student-athletes.
