Description
The High School Coach is responsible for developing and leading a competitive athletic program that prioritizes student-athlete development, sportsmanship, and team success. This role encompasses skill development, mentorship, and fostering a positive team culture that aligns with the school and division's values and goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated expertise in the specific sport to be coached.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher (preferred).
- Must meet all requirements for coaching certification in Virginia, including CPR/First Aid certification and completion of required training programs (e.g., VHSL courses).
- Strong communication and leadership skills to work effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of sportsmanship, safety, and academic achievement for all student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a coach or participation in the sport at the high school or college level.
- Current CPR certification.
