Description
The Assistant Football Coach will work closely with the Head Coach and coaching staff to ensure the overall success of the program by helping student-athletes develop skills, maintain academic eligibility, and prepare for game-day competition. The successful candidate must meet all NFHS and MIAA coaching requirements and align with the school’s commitment to education-based athletics and character development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading effective practices focused on skill development, fundamentals, and team strategies.
- Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes, ensuring player growth and understanding of their roles within the team.
- Support strength and conditioning programs to enhance athletic performance and injury prevention.
- Assist in developing game plans, scouting opponents, and implementing offensive and defensive strategies.
- Help analyze game film to evaluate team and individual performance, making necessary adjustments to improve execution.
- Prepare players for competition by ensuring they are mentally and physically ready for game day.
Qualifications:
- Previous football coaching experience at the high school, youth, or collegiate level.
- Strong understanding of football fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategies, and skill development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching staff to execute team strategies.
