Description
The Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Assistant/LB’s) responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all facets of the program to develop an elite NAIA Football program that will be competitive within the Frontier Conference on the field, in the classroom and in the community. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to lead, teach and coach student-athletes in a challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing and conducting all practices for the defensive unit and LB’s, including daily on-field coaching and management at all practice sessions and games.
- Assist in organizing game preparation, including film breakdown; developing game plans and scouting reports related to the defensive unit and LB’s for each contest.
- Assist in scheduling and managing film sessions and meetings for the selected defensive position.
- Recruitment plan for qualified student-athletes for successful participation.
- Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and conduct becoming of the coaching profession adhering to all university and professional sport association guidelines.
- Working knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations
- Committed to student-athlete development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field.
- Four (4) years of prior college playing or coaching experience.
- Two (2) years of experience supervising college football strength and conditioning program.
- Two (2) years of experience recruiting for a college football program.
- Two (2) years of experience with defense and LB’s.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of and commitment to NAIA and Frontier Conference rules.
- Ability to exert oneself physically over sustained periods of time to complete job activities.
- Ability to stand a minimum of 6 hours during the workday.
