Description
JOB GOAL:
To assist the head coach football and oversee in one or more areas within the Athletics and Recreation Department. Needed to coach 100+ students.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assist the head coach with managing the daily operations of a Division III intercollegiate football program under the guidelines established by Vermont State University and the NCAA.
- Responsibilities include, but not limited to, practice and game preparation, recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes, overseeing the academic success and student-athlete welfare.
- This coaching appointment would coach their own position group on the offensive side of the ball and be responsible for a recruiting area within the northeast.
- Assist in game management for various athletic events and contests.
- Perform other administrative duties within the Athletics and Recreation Department as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background as an offensive coach is essential.
- Broad base of knowledge and skills related to athletic facilities, management, coaching, recruiting and other relevant experience.
- Two to four years of prior coaching experience.
- Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of university students, personnel, as well as media contacts, facilities users and others outside the University.
- Weekend and evening work are required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
