Assistant Football Coach

The purpose of this position is the coaching and development of young men both on and off the field. This position is responsible for assisting in coaching the defense. Davidson is a Division I-FCS program that competes in the Pioneer Football League

Job Duties:

• Assist on the field and in classroom instruction of defensive techniques and strategies; evaluate individual performances and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiencies as required; serve as defensive position coach as directed by the head coach.
• Participate in comprehensive recruiting activities; coordinate efforts with admission’s office to establish academic viability for prospects; thoroughly evaluate and recruit all viable prospects in designated geographical areas. Ensure compliance by coaching staff, players and recruits with the NCAA, Pioneer Football League, and Davidson College.
• Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters; monitor academic and social progress of designated individuals on the team; consult with college personnel and faculty for resolution of problems as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience coaching or playing football is preferred.
• The job requires a highly motivated individual dedicated to inspiring and leading young student-athletes, and an intricate working knowledge of the sport of football.
