Description
The Assistant High School Football Coach plays a crucial role in supporting the head coach and ensuring the overall success of the football program. This position involves on-field coaching, strategic planning, and mentoring student-athletes, all aimed at enhancing their skills and fostering a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game strategies, practice plans, and drills.
- Provide hands-on instruction and feedback to players during practices and games, focusing
on improving individual skills and team play. - Evaluate player performance and progress, offering constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with the head coach to analyze opponents and contribute to game planning.
- Help organize and conduct pre-game and post-game meetings with players to review strategies and performance.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as managing equipment, coordinating travel arrangements, and maintaining records.
- Support the head coach in organizing and executing team events and fundraising activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience playing or coaching football at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong understanding of football strategies, techniques, and game rules.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, other staff members, and school administrators.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
- CPR /First Aid Certification.
- Completion of the NFHS Fundamentals of coaching course is required.
