Assistant Football Coach

The Assistant High School Football Coach plays a crucial role in supporting the head coach and ensuring the overall success of the football program. This position involves on-field coaching, strategic planning, and mentoring student-athletes, all aimed at enhancing their skills and fostering a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game strategies, practice plans, and drills.
• Provide hands-on instruction and feedback to players during practices and games, focusing
  on improving individual skills and team play.
• Evaluate player performance and progress, offering constructive feedback and support.
• Collaborate with the head coach to analyze opponents and contribute to game planning.
• Help organize and conduct pre-game and post-game meetings with players to review strategies and performance.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as managing equipment, coordinating travel arrangements, and maintaining records.
• Support the head coach in organizing and executing team events and fundraising activities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience playing or coaching football at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
• Strong understanding of football strategies, techniques, and game rules.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, other staff members, and school administrators.
• Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
• CPR /First Aid Certification.
• Completion of the NFHS Fundamentals of coaching course is required.
