Description
Reporting to the Associate Head Football Coach, the Assistant Football Coach/ Defensive Coordinator assists the associate head coach in all phases of the administration, organization and supervision of the football program, and has a primary role in student athlete recruitment and retention.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and direct the defensive staff to develop an effective team defense that will fulfill the goals and objectives of the football program.

Evaluate all aspects of the defensive team including student-athlete development and staff. Game-plan and direct the defense during all regular and postseason competition.

Organize and coordinate all defensive staff meetings, evaluate defensive staff and implement work schedules.

Assist in game preparations and planning, practice preparations and in conducting practice sessions.

Coordinate the recruitment process, recruit prospective student-athletes for the football program throughout the state and region.

Participate in the film process; capturing footage, game breakdown, evaluation and sharing.

Administer summer camp and clinic activities.

Assist in the conduct of all non-traditional season activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in sports management, physical education or related field.

A minimum of three years of professional work experience coaching student athletes at the collegiate level.

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; particularly as they apply recruiting and student athlete eligibility.

Ability to work an irregular schedule, including evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
