Description
The Assistant Football Coach (Offensive Line) works under the supervision of the Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator. This position includes coaching the offensive line on the field, position meetings, special teams’ duties, as well as all things that go along with coaching; recruiting; organize official and unofficial visits; assist with practice, game preparations, and planning of travel itineraries; assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring, fundraising, game management and scheduling and any other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach or Offensive Coordinator. Must be proficient with HUDL, Microsoft Excel, Word.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in developing offensive game plans, strategies, and tactics to optimize team performance during practices and games.
- Instruct and mentor studentathletes on offensive techniques, skills, and positional responsibilities in alignment with team objectives and coaching philosophy.
- Collaborate with the coaching staff to evaluate player performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop individualized training programs.
- Recruit talented studentathletes by evaluating prospective recruits, establishing relationships with high school coaches, and representing the university at recruiting events.
- Monitor the academic progress and personal development of studentathletes, providing guidance and support to ensure their success on and off the field.
- Assist with organizing and conducting team practices, conditioning sessions, and film study sessions to enhance player development and tactical understanding.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture by promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among studentathletes.
Qualifications:
- Collegiate Football playing and/or coaching experience.
- Irregular work hours such as weekends, holidays, and evenings are to be expected.
- Multilingual skills highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a collegiate or high school football coach, with a focus on offensive strategy and player development.
- Strong knowledge of offensive schemes, techniques, and best practices in football.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop studentathletes with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment that prioritizes academic success and personal growth.
