Assistant Girls Basketball Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s degree minimum.
• Must have a valid Arkansas teacher’s license.
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid and AED.
• Must meet Arkansas Activities Association requirements for coaches.
• Evidence of strong commitment to quality education.
• Enhanced knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
• Knowledge of Arkansas Activities Association (AAA Handbook) rules.
• Demonstrate the ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the Head Basketball coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport, organizing the Basketball program at the assigned school for overall success.
• Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the Head Basketball coach.
• Assesses player’s skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head Basketball coach informed of the athletic performance of students.
• Assists with determining game strategy, supervising athletes during practices and completion.
• Participates in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies. Performs support tasks such as distributing and marinating eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
