The Assistant Golf Coach is responsible for assisting with the management, coaching, and oversight of all phases of the golf program necessary to provide a positive collegiate experience for student-athletes. The assistant coach will report to the head coach directly and oversee the following duties: recruitment of players, preparation for events , budget and finance management, and academic oversight and progress of student-athletes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Four years of experience as an intercollegiate golfer. One or two years of college golf recruiting/coaching/professional playing experience. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of golf terminology and maintains a high skill level of golf execution. Must be self-motivated and team-oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage and update social media platforms regularly.
Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to recruit quality student-athletes. Ability to work with a wide variety of people. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.
Licensing/Professional Certifications: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk during practice and tournaments, in cold and hot conditions.
Other Requirements: Successful completion of a criminal background check.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree. Four or more years of collegiate golf playing/coaching experience/GA. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division II rules. Familiar with the daily operations and running a golf program.
