Description
The department of Athletics at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Head Coach for Women's Soccer.
What You'll Do:
- Act in the absence of the Head Women’s Soccer Coach with matters related to community relations including speaking engagements and personal appearances.
- Assist the Head Women’s Soccer Coach with expense control compliance and administration of the sport budget.
- Help plan and execute team practice sessions.
- Assist with the organization required for visiting teams, referees, recruits and other activities and events.
- Assist with the organization and administration of camps, community service and clinics.
- Assist with the establishment of communication and enforcement of rules and regulations regarding student conduct, appearance, and behavior.
- Coordinate procurement and inventory control of equipment and apparel for team, staff, and camps. Assist the Head Women’s Soccer Coach with the recruitment of quality student-athletes and coordinate said recruiting activities with the athletic compliance staff.
- Demonstrate an active involvement in the academic progress of student-athletes. Work with Department of Intercollegiate Athletics’ student services staff to prevent academic eligibility problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Maintain high standard of ethics and integrity related to intercollegiate athletics.
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with student-athletes, peers and the general public.
- Computer literacy with common office applications such as Word and Excel required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and conference guidelines, policies, rules and regulations with the ability to interpret, apply, enforce and explain such policies and rules.
- Successfully complete NCAA certification exam annually.
- Maintain knowledge of state and University policies and procedures.
- Exhibit strong creative, organizational and interpersonal skills.
