Assistant Lacrosse Coach, Girls Program

The Assistant Lacrosse Coach is responsible for all aspects of training, developing and coaching student-athletes, campers.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and delivers a Lacrosse training program for all student-athletes focused on youth development and skills training.
• Assesses the skill development of each student-athlete, and partners with school staff and performance coaches to ensure their ongoing comprehensive development.
• Assists with the psychological preparation of the student-athlete in both pre-match and post-match.
• Develops motivational approach to practice and matches.
• Works to develop comprehensive knowledge of lacrosse in decision-making, handling authority and setting and meeting objectives.
• Interacts with the student-athlete as a mentor and as an educator of the sport.
• Partners with the student-athlete’s parent/guardian regarding their overall development.
• Effectively communicates to student-athletes and their parents/guardians.
• Assures that proper safety is maintained.
• Assists in the college placement of the student-athlete.
• Travels to tournaments and other events as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Head coach of a national team or individual elite players.
• Experience of preparing elite player development models and tournament schedules.
• Experience of arranging and coordinating delivery of third party support for players.
• Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, business administration or a similar sports or business related field or the equivalent.
• High standard of proficiency in Lacrosse, training and instructional techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of methodology or long term athletic development modeling.
• Strong commitment to student-athletes and their long term development.
• Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
