Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

The University of Maine at Farmington and the Department of Athletics seeks a part-time, seasonal Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach assists with all aspects of leading an NCAA Division III Program.

Essential Duties:

• Participates in games and practices, including organization and implementation of daily practices.
• On-court coaching in competition and training.
• Prepares film breakdown and analysis; presents analysis to team members.
• Plans and prepares for games and training.
• Organizes team travel and meals.
• Assists with scouting, recruitment, and strategy development.
• Contributes to strength and conditioning program, including one-on-one strength, and conditioning work with student athletes.
• Provides support and encouragement to student athletes.
• Recruits and retains talented athletes; builds relationships with prospective student athletes and their families through email, phone, and one-on-one meetings.
• Understands NCAA and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) rules, compliance, and laws.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass the NCAA rules exam prior to the start of the season.
• Experience with the skills of basketball.
• Valid driver's license (in good standing, based on UMS standards).
• Varied hours (availability is a must).
