Description
The Assistant Coach provides administrative, instructional, and recruiting support services under the direction of the head coach and athletic director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the implementation of the sport training and instructional program under the direction of the head coach by providing sport skill instruction, assist in the conduct of practice sessions, performing game-related duties, and motivating players to give their best efforts.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and training sessions.
- Work individually with players to develop skills, strategies, and lacrosse IQ.
- Analyze player performance through video analysis and other tools, providing feedback and areas for improvement.
- Implement game strategies and assist in making in-game adjustments.
- Assist with recruitment of prospective student-athletes effectively as assigned by and under the direction of the head coach.
- Serve as a liaison with academic support personnel in support of players' academic efforts.
- Serve as a liaison with athletic training and strength and conditioning staff in support of conditioning conditioning and rehabilitation of players.
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in the personal and academic development, as well as athletic progress, of student-athletes.
- Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior in pursuit of sport program goals set by the head coach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated Lacrosse coaching experience, with a focus on coaching infielders.
- Have knowledge of NCAA Division III rules.
- Excellent interpersonal, teaching and communication skills are essential.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License. Must have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violation.
