Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach

Reporting to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in meeting the goals of guiding and building an elite-level NCAA Division II program. This requires the promotion of academic achievement and character of the student-athlete, fans, and the overall College community. The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for the implementation and coaching of a full developmental team, individual player development, recruiting coordination for the entire program, game day preparation, opponent scouting, academic monitoring, and on-field coaching during practices.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations which includes preparation, organization and implementation of effective practice schedules, off-season programs and in-game coaching.
• Evaluation and recruitment of elite prospective student-athletes.
• Game preparation.
• Training and development all student-athletes with a focus on goalkeeping.
• Monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress and growth as a person.
• Ability to participate and lead in practice and drills.
• Individual workouts, conditioning, and strength training with players.
• Direction, instruction and assistance with summer soccer camps.
• Game film study and preparation.
• Game day meal planning and organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous coaching experience at the high school or college level.
• Excellent written and oral communication, well-developed presentation skills, and outstanding customer and quality service skills.
• Competency with Microsoft Office applications and social media marketing platforms.
• Ability to build relationships with student-athletes and families.
