Primary Duties:
- Serve as the assistant coach in collaboration with the vision of the head coach.
- Coach student-athletes, including all team practices and scheduled games/competitions; develop game preparation and strategy; condition and train student-athletes, including skill demonstration, in order to develop skill, character, and teamwork in men's soccer. Ensure that all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations are followed including student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling and academic progress. Follow University procurement and travel policies. Work in collaboration with fellow coaches and staff under the direction of the head men's soccer coach.
- Recruit highly qualified prospective student-athletes.
- Monitor player academics, encourage academic excellence including student-athlete health, wellness and overall welfare.
- Assist in the organization of camps and clinics; fund-raising opportunities; serve on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establish and maintain community relations and engagement that enhances the success of the program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year institution.
- Willing and able to work nights and weekends as needed to fulfill job duties.
- Physical ability to fulfill duties of the position, including skill demonstration.
- At least one year of successful coaching in men’s soccer at high school or higher level; this experience can include intern or graduate assistant work.
- Experience with, or commitment to, working in a diverse work environment.
- Experience in positions or activities that required skills in cooperation, organization, communication and problem solving.
- Experience in a position or activity that required knowledge of NCAA and/or RMAC rules and regulations.
