Description
The Women's Rugby Assistant Coaches will have a sound understanding of the development of students to fulfill their mission as BYU students and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The assistant coach will fulfill the responsibilities of assistant coaching, scheduling, and development of the Women's Rugby team members. The assistant coach will work effectively in a professional manner on and off the field with university administrators. The assistant coach will follow university guidelines related to academic standards, policies, Honor Code, and administrative needs.
Essential Functions:
- Follow university policies related to academic standards and the Honor Code and ensure team compliance.
- Collaborate with administrators to provide success for students on and off the field
- Report injuries and/or safety concerns to the Athletic Training Manager
- For liability purposes, do not permit individuals to participate in practices or games without signed waivers.
- Attend all practices and home games (non-negotiable)
- Fall practices: MWF 5:00-6:50pm
- Winter practices: TTHS 6:00-7:50am (1st term) and MWF 5:00-6:50pm (2nd term)
- Travel with the team to all away James (non-negotiable)
- Maintain clear communication with coaching staff and athletes.
- Be approachable and professional on and off the field.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma (required)Bachelor's degree; preferably in physical education, Recreation Management, Exercise (preferred).
- Science & Wellness, Student Affairs, or related field (required).
- Assistant coached 1 or more years at high school or equivalent level (preferred).
- Assistant coached Women's Rugby at university level (preferred}.
