Description
This position will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the Women’s Soccer program, which includes but not limited to recruiting, assisting with practices and games, skill development, film exchange, academic monitoring of student-athletes, public relations, and participation in clinics and summer camps, specifically relating to goalkeepers; and performs related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Identifies potential recruits at high school/club games and tournaments.
- Attends weekend tournaments at both regional and national scale.
- Initiates contact with recruits via email and phone conversations.
- Assists the Head Coach with on campus recruiting visits for goalkeepers.
- Communicates with the College’s admissions department on prospective students.
- Assists the Head Coach with practice and game planning and execution.
- Attends all practices, games, meetings, and team events.
- Understands systems of play, technical and tactical aspects of soccer, and game management.
- Leads drills and training sessions for goalkeepers.
- Prepares detailed film breakdowns and runs scouting sessions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, science or closely related field.
- Prior playing or coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred; successful high school or club coaching experience considered.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to developing positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, administration, and the College community.
- Goalkeeper experience, as player or coach, preferred but not required.
- Must align with the Missions, Values, and goals of Columbia College and the Women’s Soccer Program.
- Must be able to work flexible hours which may include early/late hours, occasional weekends, and the ability to travel.
- Must have a valid SC Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
