Description
Norfolk State University, a NCAA Division I Institution is seeking applications for a full-time, twelve-month Assistant Softball Coach position to assist with managing, organizing and administering all components of the softball program in accordance with NCAA and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rules and regulations.
The successful candidate will:
- Assist with recruiting qualified NCAA Division I academically sound and competitive student-athletes.
- Develop hitting and player development.
- Manage and monitor schedules and activities to enhance championship opportunities.
- Organize and arrange team travel plans.
- Oversee and promote compliance of NCAA rules among staff, student-athletes and representatives of athletic interest.
- Serve as a positive role model and brand ambassador for the student-athletes.
- Manage budget assigned funds.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of training and education that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Demonstrated successful coaching experience in collegiate softball or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, and competitive softball strategies and training techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
