Description
Under the direction and supervision of the Head Softball Coach, this position is responsible for assisting the head coach with recruiting, coaching and training student-athletes in the sport of softball. The assistant coach will advise and teach all team members to be successful both in competition and in the classroom. Understand and model the Athletic Department’s goals as set forth by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.
RESPONISIBILITES:

At the direction of the Head Coach, provide technical and tactical instruction, demonstration and teaching the sport's dynamics to student-athletes to ensure the full potential of individuals and the team as a whole.

Communicate and motivate effectively with student-athletes to ensure that team members are improving, developing, and progressing as athletes during their collegiate careers.

Utilize evaluation tools to monitor training progress and analyze performances.

Assists in implementing practice plans and coaching team during scheduled competitions/events. Position program to achieve competitive goals as established in conjunction with athletics administration.

Maintain effective, proactive, and responsive communication throughout the athletics program, while emphasizing relationships with head coach, sport administrators and support services.

Be a professional representative of the University and a role model for student-athletes, the Department, and the community.

Operate within the rules, regulations, and policies of the University and the Athletics Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree.

Two (2) years’ experience coaching or playing softball/baseball at the college or professional level

Ability to recruit talented student-athletes.

Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
