Assistant Softball Coach

This position will assist the head coach in the leadership and supervision of the athletic program that has been assigned to him/her. The individual may also have teaching assignments or other duties assigned and will be responsible for assisting in the supervision and/or controlling of his/her players’ behavior in the residence halls.

Duties:

• Assist in the supervision of all activities of the assigned athletic program;
• Develops and maintains a positive relationship with the high school coaches of the district;
• Maintain a cooperative and supportive relationship with the administration, faculty, and support staff;
• Assist in the supervision of the student athletes participating in his/her athletic program in the areas of conduct and academic performance;
• Assist in maintaining and reporting accurate scholarship information to the Director of Athletics, Director of Financial Aid, Registrar, and others as needed and as assigned by the head coach;
• Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of athletic supplies and equipment assigned to his/her program;
• Coordinates, through the head coach, requests for repairs and/or improvements of assigned facilities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree, required.
• Skills: Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office applications, satisfactory written and verbal communication skills, knowledgeable of basic first-aid techniques.
• Work Experience include required number of years documented experience in a comparable/related position: 2 years of relevant work experience, required.
