Description
The Assistant Softball Coach supports the Head Softball Coach in all aspects of coaching,
training, and managing the athletic team. This includes assisting with practice planning, game
strategy, player development, and administrative duties. The Assistant Softball Coach plays a
critical role in ensuring the success and development of student-athletes both on and off the
field.
Requirements:
- At least a bachelor's degree.
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Previous coaching or playing experience at the collegiate or high school level.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience in recruiting student athletes is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report to the Head Softball Coach
- Understand the softball technical and tactical aspects.
- Mentor and support student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and personal growth.
- Monitor the progress of student-athletes and provide guidance to help them achieve their potential.
- Assist in developing individualized training plans for student-athletes.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting talented student-athletes to join the team.
- Participate in scouting and evaluating potential recruits.
- Maintain communication with recruits, their families, and high school coaches.
- Help with the organization and management of team travel, including transportation, accommodations, and meals.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of team activities, including attendance, statistics, and eligibility.
- Ensure compliance with college, conference, and national regulations.
