Description
The Assistant Softball Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of the University’s softball program. This includes practice preparation, scouting, recruiting, and administrative duties. The successful candidate will embody a commitment to excellence both on and off the field while upholding University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and game strategies.
- Scout opponents and evaluate potential recruits to build a competitive team.
- Provide mentorship to student-athletes to foster academic and athletic success.
- Collaborate with other staff, faculty, and administrators to promote the softball program.
- Support the program’s compliance with NCAA, conference, and University policies.
- Carry out administrative tasks as directed by the Head Coach.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of softball fundamentals and rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse groups, including coaches, student-athletes, faculty, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to obtain or possess current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
