Description
Saginaw Valley State University, a DII member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic conference invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Strength and Conditioning to assist the head coach to develop, promote and supervise all facets of the Strength and Conditioning program; assist the head coach to develop and execute strategies for the physical preparedness of student-athletes for highly visible regional and national competition; assist the head coach to organize and direct all aspects of the Strength and Conditioning programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to all applicable NCAA and conference compliance rules and regulations.
- Ensuring that all relevant institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations are followed including, but not limited to player eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling and academic progress.
- Ensure compliance with all institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations by student-athletes and sport-related staff.
- Abides by NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance.
- Responsible for the program design, organization, and implementation of Strength and Conditioning activities as assigned by Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
- Assist in collective departmental and individual record keeping for all programming, testing, and student-athlete assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, or similar field.
- One year of collegiate strength and conditioning graduate assistantship experience.
- CSCS or CSCCA certified.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified.
- Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Exceptional leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
