Description
To promote a fundamentally sound strength and conditioning program with an emphasis on physical fitness, ability and performance development to encourage a strong work ethic and positive attitude toward strength training and physical conditioning.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years combined experience either in a high school or intercollegiate strength and conditioning program.
- A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in analysis and techniques of lifting.
- Experience and/or expertise in the area of strength and conditioning and fitness programming for diverse populations.
- Evidence of strong organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate high school students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct all facets of program, staff and facility operations related to the strength and conditioning program.
- Design and have final review of all exercise-related training programs; develop individual and team programs for pre-season, in-season, and off-season as well as for students not involved in athletics.
- Oversee the athletic performance and physical fitness operation ensuring compliance with school, conference and state rules and regulations.
- Coordinate and conduct orientation meetings for those who use the facility about proper training technique, nutrition, and dangers of banned substances.
- Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of performance equipment including cleaning and repair.
- Develop staff work, supervision schedules, assign duties and evaluate performance.
- Coordinate time schedules for the use of the facility by students, athletic teams, and staff.
- Work and communicate with coaches and staff about all aspects of programming and student and team use.
