Assistant Swim Coach

The Greensburg YMCA is currently seeking an Assistant Swim Coach. The Assistant Coach must be knowledgeable enough to motivate and instruct swimmers on efficient and effective stroke techniques knowing the level of swimmers competing. Constantly evaluating and encouraging the swimmers all while in a safe, fun, competitive environment. Follows under direct supervision of Head Coach to help with the practices and assigned duties and reports to Head Coach.

Essential Functions:

• Assistant Coach is responsible for helping at all practices with workouts under direction of head coach.
• Communicating with the parents all information that is needed to ensure a safe enjoyable environment and that all concerns are dealt with on all levels.
• Assist in meet lineup if asked.
• In cooperation with Head Coach running dry-land or strength-training sessions with swimmers.
• Assist if needed with the set-up of home meets.
• Keeping the Head Coach informed at all times of team information.
• Working alongside other Assistant Coaches to assure a good workout for swimmers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma with experience or Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent is highly preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certification a must.
• Criminal, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances.
• Mandated Reporter Training.
