Assistant Swim Coach

Under the direct supervision of the Head Swim Coach the Assistant Swim Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Swim Coach with organizing the Trophy Club Triton Swim Team program. This position assists with conducting practices, motivating athletes, instructing strategies and techniques and monitoring the safety and well-being of all participants.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the Head Swim Coach with the instructing athletes of the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport.
• Assist the Head Swim Coach with conducting and organizing swim team workouts.
• Adhere to all TAAF rules and regulations.
• Assist in the supervision of athletes during practices and competitions.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of all participants.
• Responsible for set-up and clean-up prior to and after practice and meets.
• Ability to model good sportsmanship and appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials and spectators.
• Communicate with parents to keep them informed of child's progress.
• Assist with record keeping tasks including TAAF roster and all related information necessary for participant to compete in program.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience with swimming or as an assistant swimming coach at the high school or college level preferred.
• Must have the ability to work with individuals of all ages (ages 5 and up).
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification before the season starts.
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches - Preferred.
