Assistant Swim Team Coach

The Assistant Head Swim Team Coach has oversight responsibilities for specific training groups assigned and will work alongside the Head Swim Team Coach in the administration and management of all swim team program aspects.

Essential Duties:

• Work with head coach, oversight committees and club leaders to develop strategic plans for swim season.
• Participates in the swim team hiring process, offering recommendations for new hires.
• Assist with creation of daily practice schedules, assigning daily coaching responsibilities to swim team coaches.
• Attends staff orientations, training meetings and weekly coaching staff meetings.
• Attends pre-season, mid-season, post-season performance reviews with coaching staff alongside head coach.
• Ultimately ensure all practice and meet pool requirements have been met.
• With direction from head coach, assist with managing all team practices in accordance with program strategies, objectives, guidelines, and policies for all swim team age groups.
• Assist head coach with organization of weekly meet entries, including weekly scratches.
• Attend, host and serve as one of the team leads for all swim team meets and extracurricular swim team events
• Assist with creation and distribution of weekly communication materials, as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

• Experience as a competitive swimmer, preferred.
• 3+ year previous coaching experience, preferred.
• CPR certification, a plus.
