Description
Under the supervision of the Head Swim Team Coach, assistant swim team coaches work to create a fun, engaging and challenging learning environment for our swimmers. They will supervise the swimmers, maintaining a safe environment at all times. They are responsible for delivering and assisting with the creation of workouts based on the ability of the groups. This work involves a moderate volume of public and member contact and requires excellent communication and human-relation skills as well as the physical strength and stamina to perform all aspects of the job.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend all team workouts, swim meets (approx. once a month) and events.
- Supervise swimmers and teach proper competitive swimming technique.
- Responsible for growth and development of swimmers.
- Create a positive learning environment and that builds team spirit through personal enthusiasm.
- Monitors swimmer progress. Reports to Aquatic Director and inquiring parents.
- Communicate effectively with parents about practice, meet schedules and other program details.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Swim Coach.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work with the Head Swim Coach in developing practice plans.
- Proficiency in developing, reading, and leading swim sets.
- Knowledge and experience teaching swimming to a variety of abilities and levels.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Experience supervising others and working in a group/team environment.
- 1+ Years of Swim Lesson Instructor experience.
