Description
Mount Holyoke College seeks a 10 month, full-time assistant track and field and cross country coach. The assistant coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization, development, and daily function of the NCAA Division III programs competing in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the head coach in developing and implementing strategies to successfully recruit, yield, mentor, and retain a diverse group of academically and athletically talented student-athletes.
- Coach specific event student-athletes in event groups as assigned (e.g. sprints, jumps, throws), in both team and individual settings.
- Assist the head coach in all aspects of running competitive collegiate cross country and track and field programs.
- Organize and manage training programs for assigned event groups including creating and conducting training plans for assigned event groups.
- Attend and support team needs at all practices and contests and specifically for assigned event groups.
Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree; a valid driver’s license; previous collegiate experience whether it be coaching or competing, and/or success as a head coach at the high school level; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to efficiently and effectively carry tasks out to completion; and the ability to function effectively at a competitive liberal arts NCAA Division III college with highly selective academic standards.
