Under the direction of the Head Track and Field Coach, the Assistant Track and Field Coach provides coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach. Assists with planning and directing recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of team members in the Women’s Sprints, Hurdles and or Throws and Multi Events for Track and Field Competitions. Promotes Intercollegiate Athletics as an integral part of the University. Assists the Head Coach, in monitoring student athletes’ performance in furthering the success of the team and in meeting academic and eligibility criteria. Adheres to NCAA and CIAA rules and regulations, University, and Athletic.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years coaching experience at the college or professional level, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Knowledge of techniques and methods, specific to the collegiate Women’s Sprinting, Hurdles and Multi Events, to include knowledge of science and technology of training and conditioning for competition.
Experience in coaching and/or competing as an athlete at the college, university, Elite Club, or Professional level.
Proficiency with computer applications, general office software and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
The position requires significant travel.
