Assistant Track Coach

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures of the Essex County College Athletic Department.
• Demonstrate and stress good sportsmanship, punctuality and professionalism to the student-athletes, assistance coaches and other members of the program.
• Assist with practices.
• Attend and direct all scheduled and/or contracted intercollegiate events both home and away.
• Teach student-athletes the techniques, skills and strategies necessary to compete competitively on the intercollegiate level in the respective sport.
• Arrive for the competitive event no later than one hour prior to home events and one hour prior to away events.
• Be familiar with the rules and regulations of Essex County College, the NJCAA, Region 19 and Garden State Athletic Conference.
• Assist with the maintenance and collection of all uniforms and equipment issued.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work with the public and institutional staff.
• 3 or more years of experience in organized and intercollegiate related sports.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
