Description
The Assistant Track Coach position supports the track and field team's day-to-day operations, aiding in athletic development, ensuring adherence to league regulations, and helping to create an engaging and supportive environment for student-athletes. This role runs from March 1, 2025, through May 25, 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading daily track and field practices.
- Help coach athletes in specialized events such as sprints, hurdles, middle-distance, and field events.
- Provide instruction on proper technique, form, and race strategies.
- Attend all home and away meets.
- Support athletes in strength and conditioning programs to improve performance.
- Develop individualized training plans to meet the needs of each athlete.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to athletes during training.
- Foster a positive and motivating team culture.
- Mentor student-athletes, promoting growth, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Assist in guiding student-athletes on goal setting and mental preparation for competitions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching track and field or a related sport.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented athletic environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with league regulations and the rules of track and field is preferred.
