Drake University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Track and Field Coach, Coordinator of Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the logistics and operations of Drake Track and Field and Cross Country, reporting directly to the head track and field coach and head cross country coach. Key duties include assisting all track and field and cross country coaches with administrative duties, supporting the organization of the track & field program and serving as a resource for student-athletes. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail, especially related to developing itineraries and maintaining records. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, building positive relationships with coworkers and student-athletes while successfully serving as the point person relating to team travel and meet management. This position will be a countable coach in accordance with the NCAA Division I Manual.
Bachelor’s degree required. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in collegiate track and field. This position requires working nights/weekends, the ability to lift 50 pounds and the capability to work independently. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must pass a background check.
Assistant Coaching Duties:
Assist the Head Cross Country Coach during the fall season.
Assist the Head Track and Field Coach during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
