Position Responsibilities:
- Works as directed with the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director in planning and scheduling a regular program of sports practices and interscholastic contests.
- Assists in establishing the fundamental philosophy, skill, and technique training appropriate for student athletes participating in the particular sport.
- Helps to oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times that student-athletes are present.
- Helps to oversee and monitor the appropriate and respectful use of all school facilities, sports equipment, and school property inclusive of general cleanliness and the security of such at all times that student-athletes are present.
- Assists in the issuance, collection, and storage of sport related equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
- Participates as requested in the development of the budget and recommends the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms in this budget process as appropriate to the particular sport.
- Enforces good school citizenship and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and participates, if requested, in due process procedures concerning potential penalties for the breach of such standards by individual student-athletes.
- Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the involved sport.
Job Qualifications:
- Lacrosse coaching experience at the high school level or higher level Lacrosse experience at the high school/college level.
- Knowledge of existing local, league, and state sports regulations as necessary to assist in overseeing their consistent implementation.
- First aid certification and current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Clear understanding concussion protocols and the ability to implement them.
- Knowledge of the activity being coached.
