Description
The Assistant Varsity High School Volleyball Coach will support the Head Coach in developing and leading a competitive varsity volleyball team. This role involves assisting in planning and implementing practices and game strategies and fostering student-athletes overall development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching the varsity volleyball team, including planning and leading practices.
- Provide instruction and guidance on volleyball skills, techniques, and strategies.
- Support the development of individual players, emphasizing both athletic and personal growth.
- Help with game preparation, including scouting opponents and developing game plans.
- Attend all practices, games, and team meetings.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
- Promote a positive team culture and sportsmanship.
- Assist with organizing team events, travel, and logistics.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and other coaching staff.
- Commitment to the development and success of student-athletes.
- The OHSAA requires relevant certifications or coaching licenses.
