Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure strict adherence to all NAIA and NCCAA by-laws and regulations.
- Ensure adherence with established institutional compliance rules, policies, and procedures as well as ethical standards of behavior.
- Ensure satisfactory academic performance of student-athletes.
- Ensure the spiritual, physical, emotional, and social welfare of student-athletes.
- Responsible for successful coaching, to include maximizing the team's potential/abilities, keeping athletes eligible, supporting the spiritual development of each player, and retaining athletes through graduation.
- Assist to propagate a comprehensive public relations program.
- Assist the operations of sports camps and/or clinics.
- Learn, understand, and adhere to all NAIA and NCCAA regulations.
- Assist in coordinating and developing organized schedules.
Education:
- No minimum education level required.
- Experience as a student athlete who competed in collegiate athletics; coaches at a high school or club level for at least two (2) years, and/or has been an assistant coach in high school or college at least two years.
Skills:
- Must be creative and innovative; discerning and a thorough planner.
- Must subscribe to the principles and lifestyle of the Wesleyan Church.
- Needs to passionately support and articulate the University mission and vision for athletics within the context of that mission.
- Must demonstrate a mature and expressive Christian faith commitment.
