The Assistant Coach’s ministry strategy is to serve student athletes and the entire campus by creating a spiritually rich environment supporting community development, quality programs and exciting innovative initiatives. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate teaching competence and integration of personal faith and the truths of Christianity with instruction in the classroom and on the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach to develop, manage, and successfully coach volleyball.
- Attending all home and away matches helping coach the team.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Crossroads League and NAIA by-laws and regulations.
- Ensure adherence with established institutional compliance rules, policies, and procedures as well as ethical standards of behavior.
- Assist with recruiting by attending club tournaments and recommending student-athletes to the program.
- Ensure the spiritual, physical, emotional, and social welfare of student-athletes.
- Assist to propagate a comprehensive public relations program.
- Assist the operations of sport camps and/or clinics.
- Learn, understand, and adhere to all Crossroads League and NAIA rules.
- Assist in coordinating and developing organized schedules.
- Assist in planning and implementing daily practice sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- One to two (1-2) years of coaching experience.
- Must demonstrate a mature and expressive Christian faith commitment.
- Needs to passionately support and articulate the University mission and vision for athletics within the context of that mission.
- Need to be gifted in supervising and motivating others.
