Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist the Head Women’s Basketball Coach with the daily operation of the women’s basketball program and the recruitment of student-athletes.
• Aid in the development of student-athletes both on and off the court, help run team practices and shoot-arounds, develop game strategies and scout opposing teams, reinforce team standards, and assist the head coach with managing team personnel.
• Identify, assess, and contact prospective students, arrange campus visits, develop printed recruiting materials and assist the Admissions Office with special events.
• Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling, making team travel arrangements, home game management, monitoring academic progress of students, supervising student workers, working with the equipment staff on the distribution and maintenance of athletic equipment, and providing the Sports.
• Perform specific duties for the Head Women’s Basketball Coach if needed in his/her absence.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree.
• Playing and/or coaching experience.
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and/or experience in a residential, liberal arts college environment.
• Ability to teach physical education courses and relate well to students, fellow department members and other colleagues.
• Ability to work extended hours associated with athletic events.
• Ability to work in a sometimes stressful environment.
